John Richard Bittner Jr.
John Richard Bittner, Jr., 81 loving husband of Marian Dannenfelser Bittner, entered into God’s eternal care on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover Hospital.
Born on Tuesday, July 19, 1938 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late John R. Bittner, Sr. and Norma Noe Bittner. In 1956, John graduated from City College High School, in Baltimore, and proudly served in the US Navy. He worked as a salesman for Sysco before retiring and enjoyed bowling, being an umpire for youth softball and watching TV, especially old Western movies.
In addition to his wife of 58 years, survivors include two children, Mark John Bittner and his wife, Angela, and Jennifer Dawn Riffle and her husband, William; a brother, Michael Bittner and his companion, Kathleen Farley; a sister, Susan Corcoran and her husband, Thomas; many nieces and nephews; and long-time friends, Robert and Jean Kowalski.
In compliance with health and public safety directives during this time, services for John will be held privately.
