John Augustine Batoha, 56, of Loxley, AL and formerly of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
Born on Friday, October 15, 1965 in Hanover, he was a son of the late John A. and Patricia Rose Carbaugh Batoha. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Janie Batoha; and a brother-in-law, John Long. A 1983 graduate of Hanover High School, John proudly served his country in the US Navy and was a survivor of the USS Iowa accident. He was later employed as a civilian communications contractor for the Navy. John was a member of the USS Iowa Veterans Association. He loved auto racing, spending time with his dogs, and traveling, especially to the beach. John will be long remembered as a kind, good-hearted and easy going man.
Survivors include his loving companion of 15 years, Michelle Miller; five brothers, Anthony J. Batoha of Asheville, NC, Thomas M. Batoha and his wife, JoAnne, of York, Frank G. Batoha and his wife, Beth, of Freeport, PA, Patrick J. Batoha of Hanover, and Paul W. Batoha and his companion, Jamie Prough, of York; a sister, Susan M. Long of Hanover; and five nephews, Evan Long, and John, Andrew, Wesley and Wyatt Batoha.
The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 4 to 6:00 PM Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM.
