Joan C. Kuhn, 75, of New Oxford, entered into God’s eternal care on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
Born on Wednesday, July 12, 1939 in Hanover, she was the daughter of Charles W. and Josephine Lawrence Cornbower. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth E. Kuhn, who died in 1998; an infant son, William Anthony Kuhn; and a nephew, Scott Cornbower. She was a 1957 graduate of Delone Catholic High School.
Mrs. Kuhn was a longtime employee of Middleburg Manufacturing and later retired from the Lincoln Intermediate Unit. She was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica and attended Annunciation BVM Church. She was a former member and past president of the Harold H. Bair American Legion Post # 14 Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of Hanover Amvets Post # 22 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, cooking and gardening.
Survivors include her three children, Roxanne L. Morin and her husband, William Morin, Sr., of New Oxford, Victoria L. Caraballo and her husband, Edwin, and Kenneth E. Kuhn, II and his wife, Tania, all of Hanover; two brothers, Charles L. Cornbower and Ronald P. Cornbower and his wife, Sally, all of Hanover; 12 grandchildren, Bill Morin, Jr., Karen Morin, Bradley Kuhn, Leslie Gilbert, Amber and Derek Warner, Carlos Sierra, Jose, Jean and Edwin Caraballo, and Bryclyn and Griffin Kuhn; 23 great-grandchildren; and a niece, Selene Minsinger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Annunciation BVM Church, 26 N. Third Street, McSherrystown, celebrated by The Rev. Lawrence Sherdel. Burial will follow in the Conewago Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with a prayer service at 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hershey Heart and Vascular Institute, 500 University Drive, Hershey, PA 17033.
