Joan Lutter Bare
Joan Lutter Bare, 81, of Hanover, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Lutheran Retirement Village at Utz Terrace.
Born May 29, 1930 in McSherrystown, she was the daughter of the late William and Polly Pascoe Lutter and was the wife of the late John D. Bare, who died in 1986. She was a 1948 graduate of Delone Catholic High School. Joan enjoyed traveling with friends to Atlantic City and being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Carbaugh and her husband, Barry, of York, Joan McAnall of Spring Grove, and Sandra Bare of Coopersburg, PA; one son, John W. Bare and his partner, Ignatius Bau, of San Francisco, CA; four grandchildren, Dan, Angela, Davy, and Jaclyn; and two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Ethan.
The family will receive friends from 11-11:30 am Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover, followed by a brief service at 11:30 am. Burial will be private at Rest Haven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice of Hanover & Spring Grove; 440 N. Madison Street; Hanover, PA 17331 or to the Guthrie Memorial Library; 2 Library Place; Hanover, PA 17331.
