Jimmy C. Wildasin, 85, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover.
Born on Wednesday, July 5, 1933 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Lester Storm and Isabella S. Wildasin. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Lee Ann Wildasin, who died in 1998. A successful entrepreneur, Jimmy operated several businesses in Hanover but music was his passion. During his musical career, he played guitar and other instruments for such notables as, Bob Hope, Hank Williams, Sr. and Patsy Cline. A US Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the Harold H. Bair American Legion Post #14 and the AmVets Post #22. He was also a member the Hanover Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #227, Hanover Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1406, the PA Federation of Music Club and was a past president of the Hanover Numismatic Club. Jimmy loved a challenge. He was gifted with his hands and enjoyed tinkering with various projects. He received two patents for the products he developed.
Survivors include his companion of 45 years, Cheryl Parry; four daughters, Connie J. Long and her companion, Bob Robey, of Littlestown, Tina M. Miller and her companion, Fabian Brady, and Caroline A. Stough and her companion, Art Brady, all of Hanover, and Robin L. Rieger and her husband, Joel, of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren, Shain, Maggie, Amy, Kevin, Lori, Abigail, Elizabeth and Isabella; eight great-grandchildren with another one expected in August; and a close friend, Catherine Stoops of Waynesboro.
The funeral will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Panebaker Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery with military honors provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
