Jim Masenheimer, 71, of Hanover, loving husband of Linda A. Masenheimer, entered into God’s eternal care on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Born on Saturday, August 9, 1952 in Gettysburg, he was a son of the late Edward F. Masenheimer, Jr. and Margel Hutter Masenheimer. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward F. Masenheimer, III; and a son-in-law, Brian Zinn. A 1970 graduate of Hanover High School, Jim was employed by Riddle’s Appliance and Repair before opening his own business, Hanover Appliance. He later retired from Utz Quality Foods and then worked as a bus driver for the Littlestown School District. Jim was a member of the McSherrystown Home Association, New Oxford Social Club, McSherrystown Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #720, Brushtown Athletic Club, and was a life member of the Brushtown Volunteer Fire Department and Southeastern Adams Volunteer Emergency Services (SAVES). Even though he enjoyed camping, his greatest joy was spending time with family and playing miniature golf with the grandchildren.

In addition to, Linda, his wife of 52 years, he is survived by two daughters, Missy Zinn and Michelle Kopp and her husband, Jason, all of Hanover; four grandchildren, Sr. Airman Alex Kopp, USAF, Brandon Zinn, Abby Kopp, and LCPL Matthew Zinn, USMC; a sister-in-law, Jean Masenheimer; two brothers, David “Whitey” Masenheimer and his wife, Linda, and Robert Masenheimer and his wife, Shirley; a sister, Cheryl “Toot” Worley and her husband, James; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Sacred Heart Basilica, 30 Basilica Drive in Hanover by The Rev. Dwight Schlaline. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing from 5 to 8:00 PM Friday at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover.

Pallbearers will be Alex Kopp, Brandon Zinn, Matt Zinn, Dan Geiselman, Josh Masenheimer, Dave Masenheimer, Tom Hartlaub and Dave Staub.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brushtown Athletic Association, 5603 Hanover Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
