Jerry D. Burns Sr.

Jerry D. Burns, Sr., 79, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Colonial Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in York.

Born on Monday, June 26, 1939 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Gerard P. and Oleida Bradburn Burns. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elsa Burns, who died in 2015; two step-sons, Bryan Keith Stansbury and Emerson Eugene Stansbury, Jr. Jerry studied music at the Peabody Institute and played piano throughout the Baltimore-Washington area.

Survivors include a son, Jerry D. Burns, Jr. and his wife, Brenda; a step-daughter, Lisa A. Docimo and her husband, Douglas, all of Hanover; seven grandchildren, Emerson Eugene Stansbury, III, Bryan Keith Stansbury, Jennifer Marie Grimes, Sarah Elizabeth Dewberry, Taylor Morgan Docimo, Courtney Ann Hippensteel and Jeremy David Burns; and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 5 PM Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held one hour prior to the service.
