Jerry Bowersox

Geraldine M. "Jerry" Bowersox, 75, of Hanover, died peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Columbia Cottage.

Born on Monday, February 12, 1940 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Adrian and Mary Fuller Schuchart and wife of the late Paul Michael Bowersox, who died in 2009. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Greg Kendzierski, a sister, Rosalie Ritzie and a brother, Ken Schuchart.

A 1958 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, she was employed with Bowman Insurance Agency for 28 years before retiring in 2004. She was a loving and devoted grandmother, who enjoyed planting flowers in her yard. She shared an interest of turtles with her husband.  Her hobby was in collecting turtle trinkets while her husband collected turtle pets.

Survivors include her two daughters, Shura Shontz and her husband, Greg, of Ellicott City, MD; Sharon Sell and her husband, Ronald, of Glenville; two grandsons, Philemon Kendzierski and Brock Shontz; six sisters, Yvonne Eisenberger of FL, Patricia Kress and her husband, Dewey, of Hanover, Barbara Weaver and her husband, Francis, of New Oxford, Loretta Fisher, Monica Wright and her husband, Steve, and Kathy McLane and her husband, Rick, all of Hanover; two brothers, David Schuchart and his wife, Deb, of McSherrystown and Thomas Schuchart and his wife, Mary, of Hanover and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 pm Monday, November 30, 2015 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Larry McConnell officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
