Jeffrey L Martin, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Spring Grove, PA, entered into eternal rest on July 1, 2022 at the University of Florida Health, Leesburg Hospital.
Born on February 28, 1955, in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Rev. and Mrs. Paul Martin, Jr. Jeff graduated in 1973 from Hanover High School and was an avid fan of music and travel. He was formerly employed by Lincoln Bus Lines of Hanover having traveled the lower 48 states including Canada. He was also employed by United Parcel Service for 28 years having retired five years ago. While at UPS he served as a union steward for Teamsters local 776 since 2006. After his retirement from UPS he returned to the busing industry to work part time for his good friend John Bailey of Bailey Coach in Spring Grove. Jeff spent most of his life in service to others. He was a life member of the Porters Fire Company and active member in the York County Fireman’s Association. He was a member of the Hanover Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #227 and Leesburg, Florida Moose Lodge #1271. Aside from his large family and many friends he will be sadly missed by his loyal companion Nikki.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Linda M. Forry Martin; a son, Brandon and wife Megan and their children, Emilee and Gavin; a daughter, Crystal Lehigh and husband Mark and their children, Ariana, Austin, Kaitlyn, Kierra, and Kameron; stepson, William Wiest and his children, Pierce and Alexis; stepdaughter, Kristi Cole and husband Doug and their children, Ashley Barclay and husband Josh, and son, Trey Cole; a sister, Linda Paulus and husband Wilmer; and six nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, twin grandsons, and most recently grandson, Bryce Wiest.
A service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, July 9 at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 AM to 1PM on Saturday. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Lischey’s UCC Cemetery in Spring Grove.
