Jeannette Gillis
Jeannette Gillis, 73, of Erwin, TN passed away Thursday March, 29, 2012 at Hanover Hospital.
She was a native of Frederick, MD but had lived in Unicoi County for the past 15 years. Mrs. Gillis was a daughter of the late Clarence and Katherine Wiles Myers. She was a past nursing assistant for Appalachian Christian Village. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Gillis was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie McKinley Gillis, Sr. in December 2010.
Mrs. Gillis is survived by 3 sons: Fred Gillis, Jr. and wife, Evelyn, Glen Burnie, MD, Allen Gillis, East Berlin, PA, Kirby Gillis, TN; two daughters: Deborah Neiswender and husband Donald, East Berlin, PA, Kathleen Henry, Erwin; two brothers: Robert and Jr. Myers, both of Baltimore, MD; one sister, June Clough and husband Reginald, Cool Ridge, West Virginia; 14 grandchildren: Dawn, Charles, Jacob, Fred III, Shannon, Scott, Taylor, Steven, Stacy, Dawn, Shannon and Crissy Gillis, Glenn and Tessia Lynch; 18 great grandchildren: Kevin, Miranda, Melinda, Michael, Madison, Molly, Gavin, Caitlin, Ashley, Matthew, Christian, Steven, Makayla, Cyncere, Trintity, Kamerron, Scott Jr., Daniel Joseph; 1 great-great grandchild, Braylyne, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 1, from 4-7 PM at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home, 720 Ohio Avenue, Erwin, TN.
A cryptside service for Mrs. Gillis will be Monday April 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Evergreen Mausoleum, Erwin, TN. Reverend Ron Fender will officiate. Pallbearers will be Allen, Kirby and Scott Gillis, Donald and Kevin Neiswender and Charles Russell.
