Jeanne M. Albright, 87, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Penn State - Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Born on Friday, January 27, 1929 in McSherrystown, she was a daughter of Claude E. and Grace P. Lawrence Wagaman. She was also preceded in death by her husband of more than 47 years, Donald E. Albright, who died in 1997; and eight siblings. She was a 1946 graduate of Delone Catholic High School.

Jeanne was an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ where she was a Sunday School teacher and adult leader for the youth fellowship programs. She sang with the Chancel Choir, was a founding member of the Trailblazers, and served on the Consistory for several years, some of which she served as president. She was a member of the Women of Trinity, and for more than 50 years, was active with the church’s toy workshop where she was affectionately known as the “Barbie Doll Lady”, and was also instrumental in starting “The Triangle” Youth Center.

In Hanover, she was a founding member of PRIDE, a grass roots organization that helped redefine the South Western School District. She served on the South Western School District Board of Directors for 10 years and served as president for four of those years. Jeanne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was active in her family’s daily lives.

Survivors include her three daughters, L. Susan Seidenstricker and her husband, Frank, Elinor Albright Rebert and her husband, Scott, all of Hanover, and Joan Lobach and her husband, Scott, of Etters; six grandchildren, Jeremy Seidenstricker, Alison Maddox and her husband, Adam, Rachel Berry and her husband, Syree, Ashley Matarrese and her husband, Dan, Nicole Horanburg and her husband, Reed, and Michele Lobach; five great-grandchildren, Lexi Seidenstricker, Jayden and Elijah Matarrese, and Colin and Joelle Horanburg; a sister, Claudine Baker of New Oxford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Trinity United Church of Christ with The Rev. Peg Grzelkowski officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial was held privately in Rest Haven Cemetery.
