Janet E. Weaver Herman, 92, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Cross Keys Village-The Brethren Home Community.
Born March 6, 1920 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Paul T. and Anita Marie Sprenkle Sullivan, and was the wife of the late Stephen B. Weaver, Sr., who died in 1961, and the late John I. Herman, who died in 1992. She was also preceded in death by a son, William Gabriel Weaver; two brothers, Donald and Robert Sullivan; and a sister Kathleen Hertz.
Mrs. Herman was a graduate of Eichelberger High School and was a retired employee of Freeman Shoe Company. She was a member of the Hanover First Church of God and was active with Deborah’s Angels of Hanover. She was an avid quilter who belonged to various quilt guilds and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include six children, Vivian Marie Weaver of Aldie, VA, Stephen B. Weaver, Jr., and Elaine Corine Leppo both of Hanover, Margaret Ann Stonesifer of Littlestown, Julia Anita White of Livingston, TX, and Donald Robert Weaver of Clearwater, FL; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11:00am Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Hanover First Church of God, 600 Fairview Drive, Hanover with The Rev. Jerry Shoap officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10-11:00am Saturday at the church.
