James A. Walker

James A. “Jim” Walker, 63, of Abbottstown, husband of Gayle E. Walker, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his home.

Born on Wednesday, August 26, 1953 in Gettysburg, he was a son of the late Gene T. and Betty Jane Kauffman Walker. Jim loved anything with a motor. He spent many years as a truck driver and had a great passion for racing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 14 years, is a daughter, Jaimie A. Russo and her husband, Adam, of Lancaster; a grandson, Paul W. Russo; a brother, John A. Walker and his wife, Donna, of Dillsburg; and four step-daughters, Valerie Stites and her husband, Dan, of Dover, Erin Reck and her husband, Grayson, of Mount Holly, Leslie Torres and her husband, Dave, of Aspers and Amanda Howe of Boulder, CO.

The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. A private service and burial will be planned.
