James S. “Jimmy” Krichten, Jr., 52, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, August 9, 2013 at his home in East Berlin following a long illness.
Born on Sunday, February 19, 1961 in Hanover, he was the son of the late James S. Krichten, Sr. and Ferne Nunemaker Krichten. He was a 1979 graduate of New Oxford High School.
Jimmy was a carpenter by trade, and was of the Catholic faith. A devoted family man, he enjoyed spending time with them, and took great pleasure in hunting and watching NASCAR races.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Wendy Reinhart Krichten; a son, Zebulon J. Krichten of the home; two sisters, Joan Riley and her husband, Rickey, of Hanover, and Kay Noble and her husband, Ronald, of Gettysburg; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Annunciation B.V.M. Church, 26 North 3rd Street, McSherrystown with The Rev. Lawrence W. Sherdel serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin Noble, Coby Riley, Zachary Riley, Rickey Riley, Jr., Chris Reinhart and Jake Krichten, Jr.
The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held 6-8:00pm Monday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover, with a recitation of the Rosary at 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 124 Broadway, Hanover, PA 17331.
