James Kelly Tison, 54, of Hanover, husband of Sherri Lynn Surrency Tison, passed away in his sleep from natural causes on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at his home.
Born on Sunday, December 20, 1964 in Florida, he was a son of the late James D. and Shirley Whitaker Tison. He attended the Texas School for the Deaf (TSD), was a former employee of Hanover Shoe Company and was recently employed by McDonald’s on Eisenhower Drive in Hanover. James attended the Spring Valley Church of God in Reading. He enjoyed working with his hands to figure out how things worked and fixing bicycles.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 7 years are two sisters, Adrienne Whitaker-Brooks of Wyomissing and Janet Leigh Johnson of San Marcos, TX; four brothers, Roy Campbell Tison of Reading, George Tison, James Tison, Jr. and Gordon Tison, all of Florida; his father-in-law, Herbert Surrency of Hanover; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Middle Street Campus of the First United Methodist Church, 200 East Middle Street, Hanover with The Rev. Gregory A. Rapp officiating.
