James P. Jessee

James P. Jessee, 89, of PA, beloved husband of Nancy P. Bankert Jessee, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 19, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.

Born on Saturday, July 29, 1933 in Scott Co., VA, he was a son of the late Oscar James Jessee and Laura Emily Bledsoe Jessee Barrett. James was also preceded in death by two children, Jenny Lee Jessee, and James Paul Jessee, Jr.; a sister, Anna June Jessee Cook; and his step father, William T. Barrett. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church, was an avid carpenter who enjoyed woodworking. He loved to tell stories, but above all he was always faithful.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 65 years, are five children, Nancy Faye Jessee Jones Sims, of Belton, SC, Sanford Nathan Jessee and his wife, Melinda, of Ware Shoals, SC, Timothy Eric Jessee and his wife, Anne, of Glenville, Stephen Noel Jessee, and Penny Lee Mummert and her husband, Merle, of Glenville; 14 grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two brothers, Billie Jean Jessee, of York Springs, and Elmer Daniel Jessee, of Simpsonville, SC.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 11 AM at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc. 311 Broadway in Hanover with Pastor Jason Myers officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens.
