James A. “Jim” Cole, 80, of Hanover, husband of Linda Glasgow Cole, died suddenly on Thursday, August 5, 2021.
Born on Monday, February 17, 1941 in York, he was the son of the late Wrightson O. and Pauline S. Riese Cole. Jim was a 1959 graduate of York High School and later received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Franklin and Marshall College. He proudly served as a Special Forces Medic and Instructor at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. He continued his service as gunnery sergeant for First Battalion 108th Field Artillery Unit in Hanover. He finished his service as a Medical Instructor at Fort Indiantown Gap and retired in 1999. He was a member of the Hanover Home Association, National Rifle Association and the York Rifle Range Association.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 52 years, are a son, William Wrightson Cole and his wife, Leslie, of Ocracoke, NC; and a grandson, Nicholas Wrightson Cole.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date.
