Ione M. Hipp Brenner, 85, of Hanover entered into God’s eternal care Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Cross Keys Village-The Brethren Home Community.
Born August 10, 1924 in McSherrystown, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Margaret McMaster Hipp, and was also preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William P. Brenner, who died in 1995. She was a 1942 graduate of Delone Catholic High School.
Mrs. Brenner and her husband owned and operated the William P. Brenner Machine Shop on Baltimore Street in Hanover for 30 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, where she was an active and faithful volunteer. She loved traveling, gardening, fishing, and especially spending time with her family.
Survivors include her two daughters, Anita M. Livelsberger and her husband, Gregory, of Hanover, and Melissa A. Huppman and her husband, Donald, of McSherrystown; one sister, Pauline Bievenour of New Oxford; five grandchildren, Michael, Jeffrey, and Anthony Livelsberger, and Kristopher and Amber Kappes; and one step-grandson, Donnie Huppman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 220 Third Avenue, Hanover, by The Rev. John A. Szada, Jr. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery. A viewing will be held 6-8:00 PM Monday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover, with the Rosary being said at 8:00 PM.
