Iona Mary Garrett
Iona Mary Garrett, 89, of Hanover, died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born September 6, 1921 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Beulah Worley and wife of 69 years to the late Stewart J. Garrett, who died on May 23, 2011. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Edgar Worley.
Mrs. Garrett was an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons, Duane Allen Garrett of Spring Grove and Marvin S. Garrett and his wife, Deborah of Fort Washington, PA; two grandchildren, Lindsay and Alexandra Garrett, both of Fort Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 10 to 11 am Thursday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 am Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Marburg Memorial Gardens with The Rev. Kenneth S. Heasley officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be James and Edgar Worley, Duane Garrett, Tom Feeser, Dave Murren, and William Noel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 116 York Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
