Howard H. Farrington Jr.

October 20, 1943 — January 15, 2024

Howard H. Farrington Jr.

Howard Henry Farrington, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Hanover, PA on Monday, January 15, 2024.

Howard was born on October 20, 1943, in Jersey City, New Jersey to Howard Farrington, Sr. and Susan Meegan Farrington. He met the love of his life Lucille in Jersey City and the two married in 1968. They were together until the day he passed. Howard had two sons, Howard III and Kevin, of whom he was very proud and often referred to as his “greatest accomplishments.” His sons affectionately called him “Dusty”, a nickname that his loving assortment of six grandchildren continued.

Howard worked as an accountant and then operations manager for the Keuffel and Esser Company in New Jersey and Baltimore over the course of a 24-year career. Following that, he worked for 18 years as a non-profit executive officer for the National Emergency Medicine Association in Towson, Maryland. He and Lucille lived in Baltimore County for 28 years, before moving to Hanover in 2001 for ten years. They then moved to Winter Springs, Florida for six years, before returning to Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover in 2017.

Howard was a passionately devoted family man, and cherished spending time with his children, their wives, and his grandchildren. Always quick-witted and occasionally stubborn and strong-willed, Howard was extraordinarily generous and kind-hearted. He was an avid reader, long-time fan of the Dallas Cowboys, a connoisseur of professional wrestling history, and a chess enthusiast. There was absolutely no one more dedicated, loyal, and selfless to those he loved.

Howard is survived by Lucille, his loving wife of 55 years, as well as his sons, Dr. Howard Farrington, III and wife, Erin, of Hanover, Pennsylvania and Kevin Farrington and wife, Christy, of Parker, Colorado; granddaughters Katie and Megan Farrington; grandsons, Logan and Liam Farrington, and step-grandsons, Jordan and Chase Gindlesperger.
