Hilda M. Folmer, 94, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Born July 30, 1918 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Delphus and Mamie Miller Meckley. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John W. Folmer, who died in 1995; four brothers, Arlington, Merrill, Ornan and George “Bud” Meckley; and one sister, Leatrice Heldibridle.
Mrs. Folmer was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing and eating out with her sisters.
Survivors include her son, Clarence D. “Clem” Folmer and his wife, Donna, of Spring Grove; one grandson, Christopher D. Folmer; a great-grandson, Zachary M. Folmer, both of Hanover; two sisters, Rita Bream of Littlestown and Eleanor Redding of Hanover; two brothers, Edgar and Gene Meckley both of Hanover; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11:00am Saturday, December 22, 2012 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with The Rev. Kate A. Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held 10-11:00am Saturday in the church parlor.
