Services: 10:30 AM Tuesday at Grace UMC, 55 Albright Drive, Hanover. Burial will be in St. Paul's (Dubs) Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Hanover Allied Council Honor Guard.
Visitation: 9:30AM-10:30AM Tuesday at the church
Harry Graybill Shaffer passed away Friday, April 11, 2008 at his home. He retired in 2004 from P.H. Glatfelter in Spring Grove after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Class of 1965 of Hanover High School and served with honor and pride in the United States Army, 1966 to 1967, during the Vietnam Conflict. Harry was a member of the Quarter Century Club at P.H. Glatfelter. He was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hanover. He was a life member of the Hanover American Legion Post #14, Amvets Post #22 of Hanover, Veterans Post #35 of York County, and of the PA Rifle and Pistol Association. He was a benefactor and life member of the NRA and a charter member of Handgun Hunters International. He was also a member of Green Springs Rod and Gun Club, Hanover Moose Lodge #227, and the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club. He was an associate member of Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Performing Arts in Vienna, VA and cofounded the Hanover Street Rod Association in 1973. Harry will be sadly missed by his daughter Florence M. Stambaugh and her husband Shawn of Spring Grove; his son Harry J. Shaffer of Hanover; and two grandchildren Heather Stambaugh and Jacob Shaffer.
