H. Louise “Weezie” Cook, 79, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born on Tuesday, May 25, 1937 in Westminster, MD, she was a daughter of the late David B. and Mary A. Croft Starner. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Donald E. Cook, who died in 2003; a sister, Julia Kump; and two brothers, David and William Starner. Mrs. Cook was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Broadway and retired after 24 years of service from Hanover Hospital where she was an admissions clerk. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her two children, Rick Cook and his wife, Kimberly Ann, and Stacelia Shrader and her husband, Randy, all of Hanover; five grandchildren, Brian Cook and his wife, April, Kyle Cook, Taryn Bilger and her husband, Chris, and Kelsey and Jordan Shrader; three great-granddaughters, Peyton Cook, and Cassidy and Paisley Bilger; three sisters, Mary Larue Houser of Littlestown, Beverly Forbes of East Berlin, and Ruth Horner of Frederick, MD; and two brothers, Robert Starner of Silver Run, MD, and Thomas Starner of Hanover.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Monday, August 15, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1214 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. David L. DeLong officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Shrader, Brian and Kyle Cook, Taryn Bilger, and Kelsey and Jordan Shrader. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 6 to 8 pm Sunday at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover.
