Guy G. Buchen, 80, entered into God’s eternal care Saturday, January 5, 2012 at his son’s home in Hanover.
Born May 29, 1932 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Allen Guy Buchen and Thelma E. Palmer Buchen; and was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Christine P. Buchen, who died May 20, 2012; and two sisters, Dorothy Cullison and Donna Lee Buchen.
Mr. Buchen retired after 26 years of service from SKF USA, Inc. and was a member of St. David’s United Church of Christ. He served with the US Army’s 73rd Tank Battalion during the Korean War. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races, playing cards and collecting model trucks.
Survivors include three children, Brenda Lee Hoffnagle and her husband, David, of York, PA, Kenneth L. Buchen and his wife, Ellen, of Hanover, and Joan M. Buchen and her companion, Tommy, of Dover; one brother, David A. Buchen of Wisconsin; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
