Gregory P. “Greg” Smith, 68, of Frederick, Maryland, passed peacefully into God’s care on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Northampton Manor in Frederick.
Born on Saturday, March 6, 1948 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Roscoe T. and Clara Miles Smith. He served with the Oklahoma National Guard during the Vietnam War era.
Greg received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Oklahoma State University and was an Industrial Arts teacher at various schools, retiring from Red Lion High School. He attended the Church of the Open Door in Westminster and enjoyed playing the banjo and going fishing. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his sister, Nancy J. Couzins and her husband, Richard, of New Oxford; and two generations of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at St. Paul’s (Dubs) Church Cemetery, 1958 Dubs Church Road, Hanover, PA with The Rev. Joshua Rhone officiating.
