Gloria L. Wiseman, 85, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community.
Born on Saturday, May 16, 1931 in New Oxford, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Alda Brechner Ecker. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Richard B. Wiseman, who died in 2012; and a brother, Leo Ecker.
A 1949 graduate of New Oxford High School, she was a retired bookkeeper at the former Alloy Rods. Gloria was a member of Emory United Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting, doing needlepoint and playing cards with her friends. She always took great pleasure in spending time with her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Victoria J. Harner of Lancaster; a son, Bradley M. Wiseman and his wife, Tammy, of Hanover; a sister, Vonnie Wentz and her husband, Leonard, of Gordonsville, VA; four grandchildren, Laura Harris, David Harner, Jr. and his wife, Jackie, Abby Wiseman and Aaron Riley; and two great-grandchildren, Philip Harris and Lynthany Rains and her husband, Travis.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with Pastor Brian C. Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held one hour prior to the service.
