Gloria L. Minarik

Gloria Lee Minarik, 90, of Hanover PA, beloved wife of George John Minarik, entered into God’s
eternal care on Monday, January 16, 2023 at SpiriTrust Retirement Village at Utz Terrace following a
brief illness.

Born on Thursday, April 7, 1932 in Odenton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Turner and
Ethel Turner. She was also preceded in death by a son, Craig Minarik, two brothers, Charles and
Howard Turner and her sister Vivian Marino. She was a 1950 graduate of Glen Burnie High School.
After high school, she worked as a secretary for the federal government until the birth of her first son
in 1956. Gloria was a devoted mother to her three children. She was a devout member of Linthicum
Heights United Methodist Church for over 30 years. Following their move to the Hanover area,
George and Gloria faithfully attended First United Methodist Church of Hanover. Gloria loved to
travel, shop and enjoyed watching the Orioles. She will be remembered as someone who never met
a stranger. She was outgoing, loved to talk to everyone and had a zest for life. Gloria was often
described as feisty.

Gloria is survived by a son, Bret Minarik and his wife, Tamara of Pasadena, MD; a daughter, Heather Kenny and her husband, Joseph of Hanover PA; six grandchildren, Craig Minarik, Jr., Tiffany Birner, Ashton and Shea Minarik and Gavin and Kira Kenny; four great-grandsons, Brodie and Jeric Black, Wyatt Birner; and Emmett Durr, two sisters Geraldine Massey and Evelyn Beall and many loving nieces and nephews.

Pastor Michael Bynum will be officiating a service at Noon on Saturday January 21, 2023 at Kurtz’s
Beach, 2070 Kurtz Avenue, Pasadena, MD 21122. Immediately following the service, the family will
receive visitors until 3pm.
