Gladys “Polly” Senft, 81, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Hanover Hall.
Born June 3, 1930 in White Hall, she was a daughter of the late Howard S. Grove and Katherine Grove Brenanen, and was the wife of the late Sidney C. Senft, who died in 1976. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Senft; and a brother, Norman Grove.
Mrs. Senft was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hanover and the Ladies Auxiliary of Hanover’s VFW Post # 2506. She was a former employee of Bowman’s Cleaners and Malcolm Spinning Mills, and had served as a housekeeper for the child developmental center in Abbottstown.
Survivors include her son, Donnovan R. Senft and his wife, Pamela; a sister, Roseanna Smith; a brother, Paul Grove; a grandson, Scott Senft and his wife, Edna, all of Hanover; three great-grandchildren, Ally Senft, Marc Delaney Senft, and Zander Senft; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Thomas H. Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held 6-8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
