Geraldine L. Hoff, 92, formerly of Abbottstown, wife of the late Robert S. Hoff, died peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Genesis Healthcare – Gettysburg Center.
Born Thursday, November 17, 1921 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Jefferson C. and Effie Bream Cassatts. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Little. Mrs. Hoff was employed at Doubleday Publishing Company, Hanover, for 30 years until her retirement, and was a former member at St. John Lutheran Church in Abbottstown.
Survivors include her son, Robert C. Hoff, Sr. and his wife, Linda L.; two grandsons, Scott A. Ruth and his wife, Melissa L. all of Abbottstown, Robert C. Hoff, Jr. of Austin, TX; two great-granddaughters Renee E. and Bethany L. Ruth both of Abbottstown; two nephews, Philip Little and his wife, Kathy, Steven Little and his wife, Sandra, all of Hanover; and one niece, Sandra Rutters of Georgia.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover, with The Rev. David L. DeLong officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Moulstown Road, Hanover. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 10 to 11 am Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17402
