George R. Moore Jr.

George R. Moore, Jr., 69, of Hanover, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Hanover Hospital.

Born on Saturday, May 31, 1947 in Salisbury, MD, he was the son of the late George R. Moore, Sr. and Mary Louise Nichols Moore. He was a graduate of the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and enjoyed building gyrocopters and hot rod cars. Mr. Moore was an engineer with Muller Associates, Inc. in Baltimore and retired in 2001, following 16 years of service.

Survivors include a son, Shawn Moore and his wife, Laura, of Hanover; two granddaughters, Ava Louise and Audrey Lynn Moore; a sister, Mary Louise Hornig and her husband, Frank, of Pasadena, MD; and nephews, Frank Hornig and his wife, Anne, Rick Hornig and his wife, Kathleen, and their families.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. A brief service of remembrance will follow at 4 pm.
