Dr. George B. Keep, 88, of Hanover, husband of Diane L. Keep, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Homewood at Plum Creek surrounded by family.
Born on Tuesday, January 19, 1932 in Syracuse, NY, he was a son of the late Donald B. and Nellie Britten Keep. He is also preceded in death by a brother, D. Bruce Keep. A proud Army veteran, he was a graduate of Cornell University and received his dental degree from Buffalo University. Dr. Keep went on to practice general dentistry out of two offices in the Syracuse area for several decades, earning the trust and gratitude of many longtime patients. He was also an active member of Solvay-Geddes Kiwanis Club for over 40 years, and of Tuscarora Golf Club in New York. He was involved in choral music throughout his life, singing with the Cornell Glee Club, Masterworks Chorale of Skaneateles, NY and most recently, the Hanover Barbershop Chorus. He was a gifted watercolor artist; a hobby that he never stopped enjoying.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, surviving family members include two children, Christopher S. Keep and his wife, Rosanne, of North Wales, PA, and Kelly K. Runke and her husband, Justin, of Fairport, NY; and four grandchildren, Mariam Keep, and Andrew, Allison, and Aaron Runke.
