George E. Doll, 58, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at his home.
Born on Saturday, August 1, 1959 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Robert F. Doll, Sr. and Helen L. Geiman Doll. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert F. Doll, Jr.; a great-nephew, Bryan Doll; and a canine companion, Wilbur.
A 1977 graduate of South Western High School, George was employed TreeHouse Foods and had previously worked at UTZ Quality Foods for 25 years. A member of Trinity United Church of Christ, he enjoyed many activities like singing, playing guitar, cooking, gardening, painting, and making arts and crafts. He took great joy in playing disc golf with his kids and making people laugh.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Teresa Kuhn Doll of Hanover; three children, Robert A. Doll of Hanover, William J. Doll and his husband, Adam Smith, of Chambersburg, and Amy E. Doll of Hanover; one granddaughter; two sisters, Barbara Wildasin and her husband, Robert, of Lancaster and Holly Doll Elliot and her husband, Guy, of Hanover; a sister-in-law, Colleen Doll Dubs of Hanover; numerous nieces and nephews; his best friend, Daniel Caler and his wife, Brenda, of Hanover; and two canine companions, Gary and Carmen.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm on Monday, February 26, 2018 at the funeral home.
