Gary P. Miller, 78, of Hanover, died Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Hanover Hall.

Born on July 5, 1933 in Gettysburg, he was the only son of the late Paul S. Miller and Henrietta Virginia Eline Miller Hostetter.

A 1951 graduate of Eichelberger High School, he attended the Washington Bible College Extension School for five years. He was an active member of Chambersburg Bible Church, where he led Bible studies, went soul winning and did in home visitation. He was a great encouragement to church members and non-church members alike. A compassionate man, he had a gift for teaching. He taught the adult Sunday School class, the 8th grade Sunday School class and a class for new church converts. He also served on the Official Church Board and drove the bus for Vacation Bible School. He was employed by Pressell’s Florist for many years.

Survivors include six cousins, Eugene, Stanton and Michael Miller, all of York, Terry Miller and Marilyn Weaver, both of Hanover and Teresa Wisner of Westminster, MD.

The funeral will be held at 1 pm on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with Pastor Gary Yoder officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
