Garland Evans Jr

Garland Evans Jr, 66, of Spring Grove, beloved husband of Marilyn Rose Evans, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born on Sunday, June 2, 1957 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Garland Eugene Evans and Evelyn Francis Queen Evans. Garland retired as a truck driver and was a jack of all trades. He loved slow pitch softball, shooting pool, and watching the NFL- especially the Baltimore Ravens. Garland liked hiding his candy, but mostly loved spending time with his family and dog Baloo.

In addition to his wife of 38 years, survivors include six children, Tony Sutherlin, of Carroll Co, MD, Bonnie Burhorst, of Salisbury, MD, Robert Edwards, of Callaway, Nebraska, Stacie Evans, of Essex, MD, Mason Evans, of Carroll Co, MD, and Jordan Evans, of Spring Grove; 28 grandchildren; 8.5 great grandchildren ; and three sisters, Darlene Suit, of Dundalk, MD, Cheryl Kidd, of Essex, MD, and Teresa Ritenour, of Hanover.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 5 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
