Gabriella Rose Sicard

Gabriella Rose Sicard, 19, formerly of Hanover, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Altoona Regional Health System from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born on October 20, 1992 in Beaumont, Texas, she was the daughter of Celina Jovel-DePamphilis and her husband Dr. Hy DePamphilis of State College and Luke Chas Sicard, II and his wife, Vicki Sicard of Dubois. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother whom she was named after Rose Soniat Sicard and also her paternal grandfather, Jerome Sicard.

She was currently a freshman at Penn State University, majoring in Spanish and was also a member of the Penn State Lacrosse Travel Team. A 2011 graduate of South Western High School, she was a member of her freshman class homecoming court, a 6 year member of the lacrosse team and a talented artist. Known for giving spirit, she continued to give in her death by donating her organs so that another may have life.

In addition to her parents and step-parents, she is survived by her brother, Luke Nicholas Sicard and maternal grandmother, Sabina Escobar, both of State College; step-siblings, Jannette DePamphilis, Christopher Taylor DePamphilis, C Nicole (Nikki) DePamphilis, Sheena Bowser and Jeremy Lefever of Dubois; four aunts, Cindy Franklin and her husband Don Epperson, Blanca Cosio and her husband, Sergio, Nancy Lawrence, Elba (Jose Antonio) Trigueros and her husband, Jose Antonio; three uncles, Dr. David Sicard and his wife Karen, Jerry Sicard and his wife Joan, Jose Jovel and his wife, Karin and many aunts, uncles and cousins from the DePamphilis family.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Monday, January 2, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5055 Grandview Road, Hanover with The Rev. Joseph F. Gotwalt serving as celebrant. The family will receive friends at a viewing from 4-7 pm on Sunday at the church. Burial will be held privately following a memorial service in State College.
