Fredyth Ladora Myers, 101, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, July 18, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Clarence Q. Myers, who passed away January 24, 2000. Born on Sunday, April 29, 1912 in Taneytown, MD, she was a daughter of the late Russell A. and Beulah L. Koontz Myers.
She is survived by her daughter; Ruby A. Bentzel , of Hanover; four grandchildren; Debra McManus, of Spring Grove, Sherry Diehm, and Wendy Benedict, both of Hanover, and Steven Bentzel of Fredrick, MD; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her sister, Mary Emma Stremmel. Fredyth is preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Myers, and three sisters; Gladys Biddle, Caroline Flickinger, and Ruby Wentz.
Mrs. Myers was a lifetime member of St. Bartholomews United Church ELCA. Fredyth enjoyed gardening and spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held at 2:00pm Monday, July 22, 2013 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with Pastor Steven E. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Abbottstown. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held 1:00-2:00pm Monday at the funeral home.
