Frederick J. “Hawk” Myers, 69, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Hanover Hospital with his family by his side.
Born December 4, 1943 in Aspers, he was a son of the late Jacob P. and Martha Miller Myers. He was a former employee of Emeco and Hanover Shoe Company. Prior to retiring, he was a consultant for T. Wahid Shoe Company in India. Mr. Myers loved hunting, deep sea fishing, the New York Yankees, NASCAR and his beloved cats, Cinder, Isabelle and Betty.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sandra; two sons, Lonnie Myers and his wife, Maria, and Fred Myers and his wife, Tammy, all of Gettysburg; three daughters, Tammy Myers of Florida, Tracey Despines and her husband, Joe, of New Oxford, and Lori Linebaugh and her husband, Chris, of Spring Grove; nine grandchildren, Jacob and Josh Myers, Drew and Brooke Myers, Nick, Nathan and Dylan Despines, and Chloe and Alexis Linebaugh; and one brother, Charles Myers of East Berlin. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and Franklin Myers.
A gathering for family and friends will be held from 12 noon until 3:00 pm Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Hanover VFW Post # 2506, 19 McKinley Avenue, Hanover, PA 17331.
