Fred B. Johnson, Sr., 66, of Hanover, formerly of Glen Burnie, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his home following a brief illness.
Born on Tuesday, May 20, 1952 in Baltimore, he was a son of the late Paul B. and Lois M. Hamlen Johnson. Fred was a former employee of Poole & Kent Corporation and a previous member of the Carpenters, Local 101. He enjoyed shopping at thrift stores, yard sales, and flea markets and playing chess. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and had a love for Boxer dogs. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and friend.
Survivors include six children, Frederick B. Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Holly, of Littlestown, Erin H. Oleszczuk and her husband, Rick, of Emmitsburg, MD, Brandon J. Johnson and his wife, Amanda, of Westminster, MD and David R., Alex M., and Shelby P. Johnson, all of Hanover; five grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Johnson and his wife, Juanita, of Florida and Eddie Johnson of Ridgely, MD; two sisters, Linda Redd of Florida and Kathy Allen and her husband, John, of Ridgely, MD; and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
