Franklin T. Hoke, 67, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, May 30 2016 at his home.
Born on Saturday, February 5, 1949 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Franklin Hoke and Effie Roadcap Tharp Hoke. He was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for many years.
Frank served with the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart, as well as the Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals, the Combat Action Ribbon, and the National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the Harold H. Bair American Legion Post #14, where he was a bartender for many years, AmVets Post #22, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2506, and had attended the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5265 in Spring Grove. He enjoyed baseball and was a Detroit Tigers fan.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Pusloskie Hoke; a son, Airman Isaac T. Hoke, currently serving in the US Air Force; two brothers, Robert and Stephen Tharp, both of York; several nieces and nephews; his English Bulldog, KaBar; and three cats, Agent Orange, Lucky and Cali.
A service of remembrance will be held at 5 pm Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the American Legion Post #14, 201 Carlisle Street, Hanover. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
