Frances R. “Frannie” Loss, 91, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover with her family by her side.
Born on Saturday, April 23, 1927 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Ralph D. and Margaret S. Crumrine Garrett. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Harry F. Loss, who died in 2003; a daughter Deborah M. Loss, who died in 2006; three brothers; two sisters; and a grandson. A 1945 graduate of Eichelberger High School, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Hanover Elks Lodge BPOE # 763 Ladies Auxiliary and the Grandview Seniors. Mrs. Loss was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Penn State fan, and enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen Loss of Manchester, PA, Gregory Loss of Hanover and Patrick Loss and his wife, Brinda, of Salem, Utah; two daughters, Pamela Loss and Catherine Loss, both of Hanover; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 AM Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover by The Rev. Msgr. James M. Lyons. Burial will follow in Annunciation BVM Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 4 to 7 PM Friday with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 PM.
