Frances B. Crawford, 91, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Hanover Hospital.
Born on Wednesday, March 19, 1924 in Manchester, MD, she was a daughter of the late George C. and Bertha Mathias Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William A. “Bill” Crawford, who died in 2013; and her sister, Lucille Upperco.
Mrs. Crawford was a 1941 graduate of Manchester (MD) High School and a 1945 graduate of the Western Maryland College in Westminster. She retired in 1979 from the Carroll County Public School System where he she taught in Taneytown and Mt. Airy schools. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and was active with the Friendly Sunday School class and with the Shell Craft group. She was also a member of the Carroll County Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with her nephew, The Rev. Dr. Richard Krebs officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 116 York Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
