Frances Bair Bolger, 93, a former long time resident of Palmyra, entered into God’s eternal care from Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover, PA on Friday, July 18, 2008, following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late William H. Bolger to whom she was married for 59 years.Born in Hanover, on April 23, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Emory J. and Sarah Nettie Sell Bair. Mrs. Bolger was a 1933 graduate of Eichelberger High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Millersville State Teachers College in 1938. She served as a librarian for the Palmyra Area School District for 10 years, and was the first female recipient of the Oak Leaf Award at Hanover High School. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.Survivors include her daughter, Jean Bolger Sonntag of Ellicott City, MD; a sister, Harriette B. Davis of Catonsville, MD; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
