Evelyn M. Steirer

Evelyn M. Steirer, of Hanover, beloved wife of Ronald J. Steirer, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Hanover Hospital.

A native of Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of the late Walter O. and Myrtle Evelyn Witte Thomas. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Joseph Steirer, Jr. and a sister, Carol Mertz. Evelyn enjoyed reading and playing video games and Bingo. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 58 years, are four children, Cheryl Ryan and her husband, Tom, Dawn Steirer-Scherer and her husband, Mark, Jackie Brandenburg and her husband, Bill, all of Hanover, and Kurt Steirer and his wife, Kim, of Hummelstown; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Lisek and her husband, Bill, of Parkville, MD.

The funeral will be held at 2 PM Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Gregory A. Rapp officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at viewings to be held from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
