Evelene E. "Becky" Alwine, 88, of Hanover, entered into God's eternal care on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Born on Tuesday, February 8, 1928 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late George Anthony Klunk and Martha Ellen Murren Klunk.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Clair M. Alwine, who died in 2006; a daughter, Susan C. Milcoff; son, Kenneth J. Alwine; grandson, Brandon Michael Alwine; and her brothers and sisters, Albert and Bernard Klunk, Anna Bomberger, Gertrude Feeser, Paul and Genevieve Klunk, and Dorothy Spangler.
A1946 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a former member of the Parkville Fire Company’s Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a dedicated wife and mother and was a homemaker most of her life.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and going to family gatherings.
Survivors include one son, Edward A. Alwine of Hanover; a daughter, Judith A. Alwine of York; daughter-in-law, Lois Alwine of Hanover; eight grandchildren, Amanda Vroom, Brian Alwine, Adam Milcoff, Eric, Zachary and Joshua Alwine, Abbie Milcoff, and Lindsey Alwine; four great-grandchildren, Grayson and Payton Vroom, and Natalie and Kendall Alwine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church celebrated by The Rev. Ryan M. Fischer.  Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.  The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at viewings to be held from 6 to 8 pm Monday at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover and at the church one hour prior to the service.  A prayer service will be held at 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 114 Broadway, Hanover, PA 17331 or to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5055 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
