Eugene H. "Gene" Livelsberger

Eugene H. Livelsberger, 77, of Hanover, peacefully entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Sharon’s Personal Care Home.

Born on Wednesday, January 1, 1947 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Henry C. “Bud” and Doris Anna Wilt Livelsberger. Gene was a 1965 graduate of Delone Catholic High School and retired in 2008 from Doubleday Publishing in Hanover after 43 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, as well as the McSherrystown Home Association and the Notre Dame Club in Gettysburg. Gene will be long remembered for his love of Delone Catholic High School and University of Notre Dame athletics.

Survivors include three sisters, Carole A. Kinneman and her husband, John, of Hanover, Diane L. Baumgardner and her husband, John, of Littlestown, and Brenda J. Leach and her husband, John, of Hanover; and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 2 to 4:00 PM and 6 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover. A prayer service will be held at 8:00 PM. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held. Gene will be laid to rest with his parents at St. Joseph Cemetery.
