Ethel L. Yingling Goodfellow, 93, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Hanover Hospital.
Born May 7, 1916 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late George M. Rohrbaugh, Sr. and Ada May Rohrbaugh, and was the wife of the late John H. Yingling, who died in 1969, and the late George H. Goodfellow, who died in 1998. She was also preceded in death by a son, James M. Yingling, who died in 1997; two sisters, Pauline Forry and Shirley A. Rohrbaugh; and three brothers, Elwood Rohrbaugh, Wilmer Rohrbaugh, and George Rohrbaugh, Jr.
Mrs. Goodfellow was a retired employee of Sterner’s Grocery Store and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. She loved to play Bingo and cards.
Survivors include a son, Robert W. Yingling and his wife, Lynda, of Abbottstown; two step-daughters, Suzanne Cramer and her husband, Robert, of Hanover, and Patricia Wainwright and her husband, John, of York; two brothers, Stewart E. “Duffy” Rohrbaugh and Dean B. Rohrbaugh both of Hanover; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, 15 step-great-grandchildren, and eight step-great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Kenneth S. Heasley officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron and Adam Snyder, Deborah and Chad Forbes, Linda Shuffler and Julie Yingling.
