A service to remember and celebrate her life will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Kenneth S. Heasley officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation:
A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Erma M. Shoop, 85, of Hanover, wife of Thomas R. Shoop, died peacefully Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at home surrounded by her family.Born August 1, 1923 in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of the late John and Edna Schowalter Remlein. Mrs. Shoop was devoted to her family, as she spent her years at home raising and caring for their children. She loved nature and feeding wild animals. As an avid birdwatcher, she took special joy in watching an eagle outside the family home and in nurturing the families of geese at Lake Marburg throughout the years.Surviving, in addition to her husband of 66 years, are two daughters, Susan Austin and her husband Bob of Shrewsbury, PA and Amy Boone and her husband James of Stewartstown, PA; one son, Steven Richard Shoop of Ocean City MD; nine grandchildren, Kate, Julie and Matt Austin, Emily Spahn, Jessica, Andrew and Steven Shoop, Jr., and Evan and Clare Boone; and two nieces.
