Emerson Eugene "Buzz" Stansbury, Sr., 81, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Hanover Hospital.
Born on Saturday, April 1, 1933 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Emerson Edward and Eleanor Rosa Smith Stansbury. He was also preceded in death by a wife, Rose Marie Stansbury; three sons, Kevin Wayne Stansbury, Bryan Keith Stansbury and Emerson Eugene Stansbury, Jr.; and a sister, Dorothy Lindeman.
Mr. Stansbury retired from Bethlehem Steel in Sparrows Point, MD where he was an electrician. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Cumberland, MD.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa A. Docimo and her husband, Doug, of Hanover; a brother, Thomas Stansbury, a sister, Beverly Stansbury, both of Baltimore; five grandchildren, Emerson Eugene Stansbury, III, Bryan Keith Stansbury, Jennifer Marie Dewberry, Sarah Elizabeth Dewberry and Taylor Morgan Docimo; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. Military honors will be rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1170 Kohler Mill Road, New Oxford, PA 17350-9242.
