Emerita Ruiz Ecker, 53, of Spring Grove, beloved wife of Christopher Ecker, entered into God’s eternal care at her home on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 following a 20 year battle with breast cancer.
Born on Friday, September 23, 1966, in Nueva Ecija, Philippines, she was a daughter of the late Rustico and Agustina Ruiz. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Edith Ruiz; and four infant sons, Angel, twins Angelo and Antonio, and Alfonso.
A member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Emerita received a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. She was unwavering in her faith and love for Jesus Christ and enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, eating, and cleaning.
In addition to her husband , survivors include two daughters, Adrienne Aguirre and her fiancé, Wyatt Dyke, of Spring Grove and Arianne Aguirre and her boyfriend, Matthew Voight, of Hanover; four step-children; Torren Ecker and his wife, Laura, of New Oxford, Megan Amspacher and her husband, Erik, of York-New Salem, and Maizie and Brody Ecker, of Spring Grove; five grandchildren, Preston, Sophia, Camdyn, Addison, and Oliver; five siblings, Fedelito Ruiz, Natividad Mattias, Andrea Ruiz, Rustico Ruiz, Jr., and Elisea Ruiz; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Following cremation, a memorial mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Wednesday August, 19, 2020 at St. Vincent de Paul Church by The Rev. Michael P. Reid, II. The family will receive friends one hour prior. In compliance with heath and public safety directives, those attending the service will be limited and asked to wear masks when in the church.
