Elsie R. Wildasin, 101, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born on May 31, 1911 in North Codorus Township, she was the last surviving child of the late Jeremiah and Sara Ann Zartman Senft. She was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters and five half brothers and sisters, her husband, William H. Wildasin and a son, William S. Wildasin.
A 1928 graduate of Spring Grove High School, she was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Along with her late husband, she volunteered at the Goodwill of Grangeville Fire Co for over 40 years and spent many years as the treasurer. Skillful with her hands, she enjoyed embroidery.
She is survived by two daughters, Ethel W. Smith of Hanover and Betty W. Stambaugh and her husband, Nevin of Spring Grove; six grandchildren, Linda Gladfelter and her husband, Richard of Hanover, Doug Stambaugh and his wife, Sherry of Spring Grove, Randy Wildasin and his wife, Lori, Keith Stambaugh and his wife, Melinda, Sherry Crouse and her husband, Andy and Stephanie Williams and her husband Travis, all of Hanover; four great-grandchildren, Nathan Lenick of Hanover, Ian Stambaugh of Lancaster, Emily Crouse of Hanover and Wyatt Stambaugh of Spring Grove and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Dr. Daniel Yeiser officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the viewing one hour prior to the service.
